McDonnell leads GOP sweep in Virginia

With 83 percent of the votes counted statewide, former Attorney General Bob McDonnell holds a commanding 20 point lead over Democrat Creigh Deeds, and will become the first Republican Governor of Virginia since Jim Gilmore won in 1997.

Hanover native Bill Bolling has easily won re-election, leading Democrat Jody Wagner by nearly 16 points with 84 percent of precincts reporting.

State Senator Ken Cuccinelli is up 17 points on Democrat Steve Shannon in the race for Attorney General, with 85 percent reporting.

Creigh Deeds: 8,176 (23.61%)

LT. GOVERNOR:

Bill Bolling: 25,395 (73.7%)
Jody Wagner: 9,010 (26.15%)
(voter turnout--51.15%)

ATTORNEY GENERAL:

Ken Cuccinelli: 26,033 (75.7%)
Stephen Shannon: 8,298 (24.13%)
