Congratulations to the Hanover Hawks, who completed their first-ever undefeated regular season Friday with a win over Armstrong. The Hawks also captured their first Capital District championship. The Hawks will host Petersburg in the Division Five Regional Semifinals on Friday night.
Meanwhile, the Collegiate Cougars avenged their overtime loss of a week ago to their archrival, beating St. Christopher's 28-16 in the state semifinals of Division I in the VISAA (Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association) Playoffs. Collegiate will play Fork Union, upset winners over Liberty Christian, in the State Title game on Saturday. The Cougars are two-time defending Division I State Champions. Good luck Cougars!
