Networks Expand News for Bin Laden Coverage

The three major broadcast networks with full-time news divisions will expand their nightly newscasts to one hour tonight to devote time to coverage of the U.S. operation Sunday that killed Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan.

CBS, ABC, and NBC all announced their moves earlier today. No word on whether the local Richmond affiliates will carry the full hour or will air regular programming at 700pm.

For updates and developments as details continue to unfold on this story, listen to CNN Radio News at the top of every hour on WHAN 1430, and, for the Virginia perspective, hear news from Virginia News Network this afternoon at 3:30, 5:30, and 6:30.
