President: "Bin Laden Has Been Killed"

Presicent Obama began his statement to the nation at 11:35pm, announcing a U.S. operation killed Al-Qaeda terror mastermind Osama Bin Laden. He proceeded to remind Americans of the terrible loss of life on September 11, 2001 and how this led to the work by our military for the past 10 years.

Obama reports he received a lead in August, 2010 on Bin Laden's whereabouts. Last week, enough intelligence was in the President's possession to decide to strike. No Americans were harmed in the firefight that killed Bin Laden. The U.S. troops then seized his body.

"His death does not mark the end of our effort", the President said, reminding Americans to be vigilant at home and abroad. He also reminds Americans that the operations that continue are not against Islam, as President Bush stated before him.

Obama reports Pakistani officials believe today is historic for both the U.S. and Pakistan.

"We will be relentless in the defense of our citizens", the President reports. He proceeds to report to American families that have lost loved ones in the War on Terror, "justice has been done."
